Portland House Guest Accommodation is uniquely placed in the Wye Valley near Monmouth and near to Ross on Wye in an area of outstanding natural beauty, adjacent to the famous Symonds Yat Rock and Gorge on the outskirts of the Forest of Dean. So there is plenty of glorious countryside and scenery to explore. The River Wye is just five minutes away on foot where fishing and canoeing can be enjoyed. Being 5 mins from the official route of The Wye Valley Walk, there are wonderful walks direct from our door and we have a large box full of documented walks in the area available as a service for our guests. There are examples of walks on Jess’ blog of course.
Last but not least
For eating out – we have an extensive collection of menus from various eating establishments over the 3 counties to help you decide where you might go out to dine. http://www.wyedeantourism.co.uk also has a very good section on eating out.
